For ISAs, Investors do not pay any personal tax on income or gains, but may pay unrecoverable tax on income from stocks and shares received by the ISA managers.

ISAs
- ISA stands for Individual Savings Account. The main difference between an ISA and any other savings account is that it offers tax-efficient growth
- The ISA allowance for 2024/2025 tax year is £20,000
- You can invest in a Cash ISA, a Stocks and Shares ISA or both
Junior ISAs
- This is a tax-efficient savings account which under-18s can save or invest up to £,9000 in the current tax year (2024/2025)
- You can invest in a Cash ISA, a Stocks and Shares ISA or both
General Investment Accounts
- A general investment account (GIA) is a simple way to hold investments outside of a tax wrapper such as a pension or ISA
- A GIA does not offer tax relief, but have few limitations on the type of investments that can be made
Investment Bonds
- An investment bond is a life insurance policy whereby you invest a lump sum in a variety of available funds
- Some investment bonds run for a fixed term, others have no set investment term
- How much you get back depends on how well or how badly the investment has done
- Minimum investment is usually between £5,000-£10,000
